check out this clamshell...
Clamshell Caudron by Anton Haas Jr of Portland-he created a vortex of graduated colors-three layers are dyed and painted undersea, the sashiko center and border, and the rainbow vortex. talk about a wow quilt! As much as I love the colors and effect, I seriously doubt I would even consider making this one.

I am loving all these quilt pictures and the information about who made them or what inspired their work. From the traditional to art quilts at the show, it would appear.
Thanks so much for sharing all these quilts with us. Very inspirational!
Definitely a WOW quilt Cher!! I can't even imagine doing that many clam shells...blows my mind!! You would have to really, really love applique I think! Great pictures tho!!
Makes my head hurt just looking at it - don't think I want to think about how it was made - say nothing of attempting it!
I'm with you - love the quilt, but I'm not gonna make it! For one I'd be too chicken to use that background piece...
Thanks for sharing all those wonderful quilts :-)
Oh those colors. I would have been stuck in front of that quilt for hours. Thank you so much for sharing the pics.
